Clients

Clients are a key concept in Bizview. Every installation of Bizview can contain one, or more, Clients. A Client can be defined as a company that has its own set of object dimensions, and therefore, a unique accounting string. As soon as you have entities with separated charts of accounts or vastly differing operational parameters, you should considering creating a new Client.

Access Clients by selecting System Administration > Setup & Authorizations > Client & Organizations > Clients.

To define a new Client, select the New button, or the Create a new client link at the top of the screen.

Below is a list of Client fields:

Field

Description

Example

Note

Client ID

The unique ID for the Client.

10

Keep short, no spaces, no strange characters, numbers, or capital letters.

Description

The description of the Client.

Sweden

Panel Tree

Client user-interface levels.

One default Panel tree in Bizview.

Sets content on the Side Panel.

Currency Code

Select Client Currency Code.

Choose the standard Currency code for the Client. Used in consolidation between Clients.

Client Attributes

Additional Information

  • Currency Code: Even though a Currency Code is set for the Client, unique and differing currency codes can be stated in the template design.

  • Panel Tree: If there is a need for custom Side Panel items, to enable additional user access levels, there is a way to accomplish this. Please contact support@ncg-group.com

  • Copy Client: [nn] Name - This function enables you to copy the settings from one Client to another (existing or new). This is very useful when setting up several Clients that might be very similar.

Usage

CLIENT is used "everywhere" in Bizview. It's a central concept and all data, authorizations, access, and other settings are affected by the Client. Also, the database objects are all designed to use Client as a data integrity field, separating records in a multi-client solution from each other.

To use the logged on CLIENT in different settings, parameters, template formulas, you can type $CLIENT and Bizview will replace that with the logged on Client.
