LISTDEPCOL

Optional in column A

Parameter to specify which columns in the form a drop-down list can be dependent of. Tag the columns that should be able to be selected when designing dependent drop-downs.

LISTDEPCOL in column A is a parameter that should be used if dependent drop-down lists are created in the input rows of the template and if the dependency is related to another column in the same row. This parameter governs which columns can be selected when designing a dependent drop-down list. If the dependent drop-down list is defined in an input row (for example, in expanded rows), and that list is dependent of the value in the first column of that row, then LISTDEPCOL tags must be defined in order for the designer to specify the relationship.

The following must be defined in the LISTDEPCOL row:

  • In column B (ROWTYPE) - Define it as DESIGN.
  • Add tags to each column that you later want to be able to choose from when designing a dependent drop-down in expanding rows.

The application will search for the specified LISTDEPCOL tag in the template and when the column is found, then the program will look for the actual value in the same row as the list is defined.

If a drop-down should be dependent of a general list that is not defined in the input rows, in other words, the location of the general drop-down is not dynamically changing, then the dependency is specified by referring to a named range. The cell containing the general list should be named and the relationship is defined by using that named range.
