Additional Information
Active/Inactive: A user can never be removed (deleted) from Bizview, however, to avoid the named user taking up a license, the user can be set to Inactive.
Password: The password strength that is required can be set in System administration > System options > Application settings > System.
Temp password: Select the distribution method for informing the user of the new password. If e-mail, use the 'E-mail Login info' button in the bottom. The service Bizview messaging Service needs to be installed on the Bizview application server.
Domain name: If used, and the application is connected to Active Directory (AD) to use Single Sign On, the user domain name is validated against the AD and logged on automatically, without having to type the user credentials at the login page.
Setting User Access
All users need some access permissions to be able to use Bizview in a meaningful way. The minimum permission are access to a client and a template. These access settings are done in the different tabs from the User settings.
- Clients: Select which clients the User should have access to (be able to login to).
- Templates: Select which templates the User should have access to.
- Dashboards: Select which dashboards the User should have access to.
- Jobs: Select which jobs the User should have access to.
- Object values: Select which object values the User should have access to.
- Versions: Select which planning versions the User should have access to.
Usage
USER is used "everywhere" in Bizview. It's a central concept and all data, authorizations, access, and other settings are affected by the User.
To use the logged on USER in different settings, parameters, template formulas etc you can type $USER and Bizview will replace that with the logged on User.
