WEBLINK

URL

URL Separator

(; or , or any other URL separator)

TRUE/FALSE

(open in new browser window or not)

1

Specify the URL to the web address you want to navigate to. In this parameter only the "base" URL should be stated. Thereafter, arguments (dynamic input parameters) are added using WEBLINK_ARG, QV_ARG or QVS_ARG to specify what should dynamically sent to the URL.

WEBLINK_ARG

URL Argument ID

<value> or $<controltag> from selection pane

n/a

x

number of times

Add any dynamic arguments that should be added to the base URL. WEBLINK_ARG is used for all type of integrations except QlikView, then QV_ARG is used. Which type that is used is governed by selecting "Other" or "QlikView" in the Argument type list.

QV_ARG

Property name in QlikView i.e LB01

<value> or $<controltag> from selection pane

n/a

x

number of times

Add any dynamic arguments that should be added to the base URL. QV_ARG is used for integration towards QlikView, all other integrations then WEBLINK_ARG is used. Which type that is used is governed by selecting "Other" or "QlikView" in the Argument type list.

QVS_ARG

Property name in Qlik Sense i.e Region Name

<value> or $<controltag> from selection pane

n/a

x

number of times

Add any dynamic arguments that should be added to the base URL. QVS_ARG is used for integration towards Qlik Sense. Which type that is used is governed by selecting "Other", "QlikView", or "QLIKVIEW SENSE" in the Argument type list.

From Bizview 5.0 there is a possibility to integrate other web-based software products in Bizview, like QlikView and MS Reporting Services. A WEBLINK template can also be linked towards a  webpage or Sharepoint folder.

A WEBLINK template, which is published to end-users, will end up in the Report tab in the end-user Home panel. A selection pane can be connected to the WEBLINK report and the criteria selected by the user will be sent into the WEBLINK (presupposed that the arguments are set up to receive the control tag ID:s from the selection pane).

If the WEBLINK report should receive any criteria from a selection pane, then arguments must be defined for the template and these arguments should be connected to $control tags from the selection pane. How to set up arguments for the URL, go to WEBLINK_ARG or QV_ARG (if QlikView integration) or QVS_ARG (if Qlik Sense integration) to read more.

Parameter Setup

In the template design, create a new template and select template type WEBLINK.

The following properties need to be defined for a WEBLINK report:

  • URL: The URL to the report that should be generated. In this field only the "base" URL should be defined. If any dynamic input parameters should be added to the URL these should be defined in the arguments section.
  • Separator: Define the separator that should be used in the URL, when Bizview adds the dynamic selection criteria to the base URL. Which separator to use, depends on the receiver of the URL and what is allowed in the URL. I.e ; or , or some other separator. If no separator is defined then ; will be used.
  • New window: By default this is set to FALSE, meaning that when clicking the WEBLINK report to open it, the report will open embedded in Bizview. If the report should open in a new browser window then this parameter should be set to TRUE. There is also the possibility to let the end-user decide if it should open in a new window or not, if such a selection is added to the selection pane and this parameter is governed by a formula (as in the example below).
  • Argument Type: Select which type of arguments that should be added. If the WEBLINK is a link to a QlikView report then select "QlikView" in this list. If some other integration then select "Other" in the list. The difference is that if QlikView is selected then Bizview will automatically add the arguments exactly as QlikView need the URL, meaning that "select=" is added automatically by Bizview before each dynamic parameter.

For more information about the different type of arguments, see WEBLINK_ARG or QV_ARG (QlikView).
