Changing the Default Application Pool .NET Framework Version

Since the .NET version 4.0 is not default in Windows Server 2008, the Default Application Pool in IIS Manager needs to be changed to the .NET Framework 4.0 installed in the previous step (Installing .Net Framework).

  1. Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
  2. Select Application Pools > Default Application Pool > Advanced Settings and choose .NET Framework Version 4.0:

    Change_Default_Application_Pool

  3. Also, set the Identity property to NetworkService:

    Default_Application_Pool_network_service
