Manually Opening the Web Application Configuration File

The Bizview application database settings are stored in the Web.config file located in the Bizview web application folder on the application server.

  1. Edit this file by opening it in DBWizard:

    Bizview_database_installation

  2. Select the Find Web.config via IIS button:

    web.config.dbwizard

  3. Or, select Browse for Web.config file.
  4. Browse and find the Web.config file, default location is C:\inetpub\wwwroot\bizview\web.config.

    IIS web application uses information in this web.config for connecting to the Bizview application database.

  5. Select your Web.config file.
  6. Select Open:

    web.config.dbwizard.open

    Now you are ready to configure the Bizview application. Notice the Active configuration file information down below has been changed:

    web.config.dbwizard.active

    Alternatively, you can edit the connection strings directly in Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

    Select Connection Strings:

    web.config.connection_strings.1

    Add, Edit, Remove, or Rename a connection string on the right-hand side.
