EXPAND

Optional in column A

n/a

Defines if the row should be expandable (if the row should be repeated for each search value defined in SEARCHVAL).

EXPAND is a common parameter that can be used in column A to define if the row should be expandable when the document is generated. In other words, this parameter defines if the row should be repeated for each search value defined in the SEARCHVAL column. If EXPAND is not used in column A, then the row will not be expanded for each search value. EXPAND should be used for detail reports and forms, and nothing should be stated if a matrix report with fixed rows is being designed.

Form Template Worksheet

The DATA parameter should be specified for each data input row in the form. It can be stated one or more times in the template. It can also be stated in combination with the EXPAND parameter. If the row should NOT be expanded (in other words, one static row), then only DATA should be defined in column A. If the row should be repeated for each SEARCHVAL, then DATA needs to be stated in combination with EXPAND.

Report Template Worksheet

In a Detail report, EXPAND should be stated in column A, since this type of report should generate one row for each search value.

REPORT Template Worksheet - MATRIX REPORT

In a Matrix report, EXPAND should NOT be stated in column A, since this type of report contains static rows that groups search values together or shows specific values in one row.
