Pane Designer
The Pane Designer lets you design the Selection Panes that enable the user to filter and affect how the report, Form, Gridform, Dashboard, or Jobs should be opened.
Access the Pane Designer by selecting System Administration > Processing Services > Pane Designer.
To create a new Selection Pane, select the New button in the ribbon. An empty Selection Pane displays and you are free to start designing:
Below is a list of the buttons available in the Pane Designer ribbon:

New | Opens a new empty Selection Pane template. | |
Open | Opens an existing Selection Pane. | |
Save | Saves the Selection Pane. | |
Save as | Saves the Selection Pane with a new name. | |
Delete | Deletes the current Selection Pane. | |
Test | Tests the Selection Pane. | |
Template / Dashboard | Choose if the Selection Pane is for Template or Dashboard. | The difference is the pane size and layout. A Dashboard pane is thinner and you do not have as much space to use. |
Label | Adds a label control. | |
List | Adds a drop-down list control. | |
Auto List | Adds a drop-down list control with auto filter. | Note: The Auto List does not support multi select. |
Checkbox | Adds a checkbox control. | |
Image | Adds an image. | |
Dynamic Image | Adds a dynamic image. | Note: The Dynamic Image must be defined in the Client Setup before they can be used in a Pane. |
Date Picker | Adds a date picker control. | |
Textbox | Adds a textbox. | |
Templates | Select which Template(s) the Pane should be connected to. | |
Dashboard | Select which Dashboard(s) the Pane should be connected to. | |
Add Instruction | Adds custom instructions to the Selection Pane. |
Usage
Selection Panes are used to enable the Users to filter, select and affect how the Report, Form, Gridform, or Dashboard should be opened.
