SEARCHCOL is a common parameter that can be used both for FORMS and REPORTS. This parameter was mandatory in the old data engine, but in the new data engine this parameter is optional. It can, however, be stated in PARAM or in row 1 in the template.
The parameter value should state the object that corresponds to the object values defined as search values in the template. If all search values (SEARCHVAL in row 1) in the template are connected to the same object, then the object can be stated once as the SEARCHCOL parameter in the PARAM sheet. However, if the search values in the template should be connected to different objects, then the SEARCHCOL parameter needs to be defined in the template in row 1. The SEARCHCOL parameter can be defined for different sections.
Access SEARCHCOL in the Template Design right panel by selecting > Parameters > Rows/Columns > Search column.

Parameter value = an OBJECT ID (ACCOUNT, ITEM) or any other dimension used in the template or defined in Bizview.
