Adding or Editing a Comment

This topic describes the different ways to add or edit a comment in Bizview HTML Client.

This topic contains the following sections:

Adding a Comment

A new general comment can be added in three different ways:

  • Clicking the + icon in the Comments panel to the right.

  • Clicking the General Comment button in the ribbon.

  • Right-clicking in a comment block in the spreadsheet and selecting Add General Comment.

When adding a new comment, the following dialog displays:

  1. Enter your comment in the field to the left.

  2. Connect the comment to a Category by selecting the drop-down menu in the lower-left corner.

Caution: The comment must be connected to a category; however, the block list can be left empty if the comment should not be inserted in any comment block in the spreadsheet. For more information, see Inserting a Comment Block in Spreadsheets.

  1. Each comment must be linked to at least one value in the Linked Values section to the right. In the above example, Bizview automatically added three linked values. If any value is dark grey, the template designer has defined that linked value as mandatory and you (as a user) will not be able to remove it. Light grey values can be selected, and can thereby be removed by you (as a user) if you do not want that particular value to be connected to the comment.

  2. To add an additional linked value, click the + icon in the upper-right corner in the Linked Values section and select the value you want to link.

  3. Save the comment.

After you have saved the comment, you can open it again and add attachments and so on.

Editing a Comment

When editing an existing comment, click the pencil icon to the right in the comment box (Comments in right panel).

Note: The pencil icon is only visible if you have write access to the comment category.

The following dialog displays:

The right panel in the Edit Comment dialog contains of the following features:

  • Linked Values: Displays the values linked to the comment. Remove by clicking on a value (not possible if dark grey, these are defined as mandatory by template designer). Or, add a new one by clicking the + icon.

  • Chat Thread: View any existing answer(s) posted in the comment. Post a new answer by selecting Add Answer in the right panel.

  • Add Answer: Add an answer/comment to the original comment. All existing answers can be viewed in the Chat Thread.

  • History: View any changes of the comment text, removal of document, and so on. Keep a complete audit trail of actions in the comment.

  • Documents: View attached documents or add/remove documents.
