Dashboard Drill Down

A new feature makes it possible to create drill downs in charts. To enable this feature, you, as a designer, need to add multiple arguments in Data Bindings.

For example, if you want users to be able to drill down from Quarter to Month and Date, drag and drop those Dataview Fields to Argument:

When you leave edit mode, you can filter the dashboard and drill down to other levels by clicking on the bars.

Action

Description

Single Click

Creates global filter (filters in the bar on the top).

Double Click

Drills down if the dashboard designer has added multiple arguments. Global filter is added in the bar.

Ctrl + Double Click

Drills down, but Bizview does not add a Global filter.

All the filters you create by clicking in a chart (without ctrl) display in the bar on the top of the dashboard.

In the example below, filtering is made on the Client by double-clicking on the United States bar. A global filter is added.

Click on the filter in the global filters bar to see which filters you made:

Hovering over the grey triangle in the upper-left corner exposes additional functions:

  • Dashboard_drilldown_Go back The back arrow reverses the drill down action and takes you back up a level.

  • Dashboard_drilldown_Remove_filter The filter icon removes the globally applied filter originally created from this area.

  • Dashboard_full_screen The view icon allows you to view the dasharea in full screen.

Note: The back arrow and the filter icon will only be visible if a global filter (from given area) exists, or if a drill down action was triggered.
