Select Rows

Select multiple rows to duplicate.

Duplicate Rows

Duplicates the active row in the grid. An identical row is added. From version 8.7 its possible to select several rows and duplicate these. Previously only one row at a time could be duplicated.

Quick Update

Shows a quick update row where you can update several rows at the same time.

Note: It is important to filter the grid with rows you want to update at the same time, otherwise all records in the grid will be updated with the same value (not available in 8.0).

Group

Drag any column in the grid to the Group field and the rows will be grouped by that column. To ungroup, drag the column back to the grid (from the Group field).

Filter

Opens a filter field the top of the grid. Here, you can select a value that you want to filter the rows by, or you can enter a value to filter on. In some columns, a filter icon displays in the column heading. Select the filter icon within the column heading to choose a filter. Select the filter icon at the top of the grid to hide the filter field altogether.

Export

Exports the grid to Excel.

Share

Select this button to copy the link to this gridform. Then, choose if you want to include Navigation and/or Header, and if you want URL or a link to embed the gridform.

Edit Mode

By default, the gridform opens in batch mode. On mobile, the default edit mode is pop-up. However, you, as a user, can select another edit mode. The following options are available:

  • Batch mode: You can edit directly in the grid. All modifications are gathered in a batch and all your changes are saved to the database upon selecting Save.

  • Form mode: You will not be able to edit directly in the grid. Instead, an edit icon displays at the end of each row. Select the edit icon for the row you want to edit and the row will convert to an input form (within the grid rows). Once you have edited that particular row, select Apply.

Caution: The row will not be actually saved to database until you click Save in the ribbon.

  • Popup mode: Similar to Form mode, but instead of showing an input form within the records in the grid, pop-up mode displays the different fields in a pop-up dialog window.

Form mode and popup mode can be useful when the grid contains a large number of columns that need to be filled out for each record row.

Column Fit

By default, the grid will fit the columns to content. However, you, as a user, can change this in the menu. The following options are available:

  • Fit to content: Column widths will be adjusted to column content. All content in each column will be visible.

  • Fit to fill: Column widths will be adjusted so that all columns in the grid will be visible. If grid contains a large number of columns then some columns might be narrower than the content in the column.

  • Hide columns: Only a number of columns from the left will be visible in the grid, the remaining columns can be viewed by selecting ... to the far right. This option is helpful when using small screens, like a mobile device or tablet, to actually be able to see the column content if the grid contains a large number of columns. If you have a wide screen and all columns can be viewed, then you will not notice any difference when using this option.

Grid Mode

Changes grid mode between paging and scrolling. By default, the grid mode is set to Paging.
