Input Form Ribbon

The input form ribbon above the spreadsheet contains four different ribbon tabs: Home, Edit, View, and Share.

Note: Depending on settings in the form, you might not see all the buttons described below.

The ribbon in the Home tab contains the following options:

Ribbon Button

Description

Save Values

Saves the values you entered in the form to the database.

Note: Always remember to save your values before closing the form or logging out. This button will be visible in all ribbon tabs.

Refresh

Refreshes the form.

Caution: All unsaved values will be lost.

Close

Closes the form.

Caution: All unsaved values will be lost.

Selection Pane

Opens the selection pane when the form is connected to a selection pane. If not, this button will not be visible.

General Comment

Adds a general comment in the form.

In addition to the standard buttons listed above, the Home tab in the form can also have additional buttons in the ribbon that are form specific. For example, the New Row button is not a default button, but added by the template designer in order for you, as a user, to be able to add new rows in your form.

The ribbon in the Edit tab contains the following options:

Saves the values you entered in the form to the database.

Note: Always remember to save your values before closing the form or logging out. This button will be visible in all ribbon tabs.

Undo

Allows you to cancel or reverse the last ten commands executed.

Redo

Allows you to redo commands you have undone.

The ribbon in the View tab contains the following options:

Headings

Displays the row and column headings.

Formula Bar

Opens a formula bar to edit cells or view formulas in cells.

Gridlines

Shows the gridlines in the form.

Outline

Hides outline symbols (+/- if the report is designed with outline groups). By default, outline symbols are visible when opening the report.

Design areaDisplays the section of the sheet dedicated to the column and row control variables.

The ribbon in the Share tab contains the following options:

Description

Print

Prints your form. Upon selecting this button, a new window opens where you can choose what you want to print.

Share

Select this button to copy the link to this form. Then, choose if you want to include Navigation and/or Header, and if you want URL or a link to embed the form.

Export to PDF

Exports the form to a .pdf file.

Export to Excel

Exports the form to Excel, including two options: Export to Excel (normally) and Export to Excel - clear formulas (Bizview will convert all formulas to actual values before exporting the file).

Export to Excel

Exports the input form to Excel. If you use this menu item, the form cannot be imported back into Bizview.

Exports the input form to Excel. Before exporting, Bizview will convert all formulas to actual values. If you use this menu item, the form cannot be imported back into Bizview.

Export for import

If you want to work offline in the form and be able to import your work into Bizview again, export the form using this menu item. Upon selecting Export for import, the book will be prepared for an import later on, and only input cells will be available to edit in Excel. The form cannot be altered in any way if an import should be done,      therefore, the book is locked and only open for input in actual input cells.

Import

Select the Excel book that you want to import.

Note: Bizview will check the selected book and if it matches the open form in Bizview, it will continue processing the import. However, if any selection value does not match, or if the book does not match, the import will be aborted.

SQL Trace

Displays collection of events and data returned by the Bizview database engine.
