Ribbon - Dashboard Design
The Dashboard Design ribbon contains four different ribbon tabs: Dashboard, Insert, Share, and Instructions.
The ribbon in the Dashboard tab contains the following options:
Ribbon Button | Description |
|---|---|
| Save | Saves the changes you made in the dashboard. |
Edit dashboard/ Leave edit | Toggle buttons between entering edit mode in dashboard and leave edit mode in order to view the dashboard in view mode (only visible for users that are a member of the BV30 role). |
Save As | Saves the dashboard with a new name and ID. |
Delete | Deletes the dashboard (enter the name of the dashboard to confirm delete action). Note: The dashboard will not actually be deleted from the database, it will only get another status flag in the database. |
| Grant Access | Allows you to grant access to the dashboard on a user, role, and client basis. |
| Selection Pane Design | Opens the Pane Designer where you can design the Selection Panes that enable the user to filter and affect how the Report, Form, Gridform, Dashboard, or Jobs should be opened. |
The ribbon in the Insert tab contains the following options:
Ribbon Button | Description |

Save | Saves the changes you made in the dashboard. |
Leave edit | Leave edit mode in order to view the dashboard in view mode (only visible for users that are a member of the BV30 role). |
Chart | Displays data graphically using bars, lines, points, etc. |
Pie Chart | The pie dasharea displays a series of pies that represent the contribution of each value to the total. |
Linear Gauge | Visualizes data within a linear gauge. |
Circular Gauge | Visualizes data within a circular gauge. |
Grid | Presents data in tabular form. |
| Slicer | Visualizes data with different criteria. |
| Card | Displays data in a card form. |
Image | Adds images to dashboard, either local or from a library. |
Text | Use the Text Box dashboard item to display rich text within a dashboard. |
IFrame | Adds an IFrame to a dashboard by entering the URL. |
My favorites | Shows all reports/forms/gridforms/analytic reports that the user has tagged as favorites. |
User information | Dasharea that shows the logged in user's name, logged in client, and current date/time. |
Workflow tasks | List of workflow tasks that the logged in user must perform an action on. |
The ribbon in the Share tab contains the following options:
Ribbon Button | Description |

Save | Saves the dashboard with the same ID. |
| Leave edit | Leave edit mode in order to view the dashboard in view mode (only visible for users that are a member of the BV30 role). |
| Export to Image | Selecting this feature opens a new window with the selected (active) dashpage as a .png. To export all dashpages in the dashboard, you need to repeat the Export to Image action for each tab. |
Share | Select this button to copy the link to this dashboard. Then, choose if you want to include Navigation and/or Header, and if you want URL or a link to embed the dashboard. |
The ribbon in the Instructions tab contains the following options:
Ribbon Button | Description |

Save | Saves the dashboard with the same ID. |
| Leave edit | Leave edit mode in order to view the dashboard in view mode (only visible for users that are a member of the BV30 role). |
| Instruction Editor | Opens an instruction editor where you can create a new instruction or attach an existing instruction to the workflow. |
