Workflow Design
Feature available from Bizview version -Bizview 8.9
You can now create, design, and alter the workflows in HTML5.
Caution: As this feature is released in HTML, all the workflow designer GUIs in Silverlight are removed.
Workflows make it possible to coordinate and get control over structured business processes, such as sales forecasting or the budget process and similar. A workflow is a list of workflow steps that should normally be performed by different users within the organization and approved by others. These workflow steps can be grouped into a hierarchy with many levels of steps.
The objective of Bizview workflows is not to handle operational processes, such as issue management or support tickets and similar. Instead, a workflow inside Bizview is designed to handle multi-step and multi-level work-and-approve workflows adding coordination, control, auditing, and collaboration capabilities to Bizview.
A workflow can contain the following types of steps:
Objects: Object values, such as departments.
Tasks: Simple tasks that someone should perform in the workflow.
Templates: Forms (can also be structured reports) that should be populated with data and approved (like budget forms).
When creating or altering workflows in HTML5, the workflows will now be saved as a work-in-progress copy. By adding this feature, the designer can open up a workflow in design mode and alter it as much as they like, without disturbing any end-user working in a workflow. The new or altered workflow is not visible to end-users until the designer publishes the workflow. For more information, see Workflow Administration.
