To create a Report dasharea, you first need to create the report template in Studio Designer. You create the report exactly the same way you create a report template that should be run as a standalone report.

When creating the report in Studio Designer, remember to state the control tags in the Pane worksheet that the report needs to generate correctly. If the control tags are stated in the Pane worksheet, then these can be fetched into the dasharea with a single button click. For more information about pane tags, see Data Param.

What to do:

  1. Select the template that you want to connect to the report dasharea. The report template first needs to be designed and created in Studio Designer.

  2. Enter (or select from the drop-down list) the name areas or ranges that should be visible in the generated dasharea. For more information, see Small Area and Large Area.

Note: No ranges or areas need to be defined. However, if undefined, the complete generated report will be shown in the dasharea, which can be a problem since the dasharea size often does not correspond to the report size. This may result in a report dasharea tha t is very difficult to view the actual figures in the report. As a designer, you must consider the size of the generated report in combination with the size of the dasharea.

By default, the Generate check box is marked since, in most cases, the report should be generated each time the dasharea is refreshed. If for some reason you do not want to generate the report in the dasharea, then this check box should be unmarked. The Generate check box must be marked if control pane tags should be able to be fetched from the template.

  1. Set Data Parameters, if necessary.
