Comment Categories

The purpose of Comment Categories is to categorize and manage access to general comments.

Access Comment Categories by selecting System  > Other System DataComment Categories & Blocks:

The Comment Categories & Blocks grid displays, as shown below:

In the Comment Category grid, you can view the comment categories that exist in the application. Selecting the arrow to the far left expands each category, displaying the role access for the specific category, as demonstrated below:

In the Role Access grid, you can view or edit any role access for the expanded comment category. You can choose between No Access, Read Access and Read/Write Access. By default,  no one has access to the category.

  • No Access: The user will not be able to view any comment linked to this category.
  • Read Access: The user will be able view any comment linked to this category, but not edit or add a comment in that category.
  • Read/Write Access: The user will be able to view, edit, and add comments in the category.

To add a new comment category, select the Add button in the ribbon and selecting Add New Category.

Any category without a linked general comment can be deleted from this grid by selecting the x button to the right. If the category is linked to at least one general comment, then the x button will be inactive and impossible to remove.
