#FREEZE

Instead of inserting freeze panes in a template, a cell comment can be inserted in cell A1 in which the freeze pane definition is stated. The reason for this option is that freeze panes can be somewhat disturbing during template design, when you, as a designer, want to be able to view the whole template and scroll both vertical and horizontally without having static columns and/or rows.

The cell comment in A1 will automatically insert the freeze panes in the defined cell when the actual document is generated. However, in template design, no freeze panes will be visible.

Complete the following steps to add #FREEZE in a template worksheet:

1. Insert a cell comment in cell A1.
2. Enter #FREEZE=<cell address or named range>
3. From Bizview 5.0, a menu item is added in the Template Design ribbon, from which #FREEZE can be added.

The cell address or named range should refer to the cell in which the freeze panes should be inserted when the document is generated. We recommend naming the cell and then referring to the named range in the cell comment. Since the template layout can change during design (with inserted/deleted rows and columns), then the reference to a specific cell address in the freeze cell comment will not be accurate.

In below example, the cell H23 is named as FREEZEH23, which is referred to in the cell comment:

When the above template is generated as a document, the freeze panes will automatically be inserted in the upper-left corner of the named range FREEZEH23 (upper-left corner of cell H23):
