Pane Designer
The Pane Designer lets you design the Selection Panes that enable the user to filter and affect how the Report, Form, Gridform, Dashboard, or Job should be opened.
Access the Pane Designer by selecting System > Designer Tools > Selection Panes:
The Selection Panes page displays, as shown below:
Below is a list of the buttons available in the Pane Designer ribbon:
Button | Description |
---|---|
Save | Saves the Selection Pane. |
Add | Creates a new, empty Selection Pane template. |
Refresh | Refreshes the data in the grid. Caution: All unsaved values will be lost. |
Close | Closes the gridform. Caution: All unsaved values will be lost. |
Cancel | This button is visible when you modify the gridform. Click Cancel to reverse your changes. |
Filter | Opens a filter field the top of the grid. Here, you can select a value that you want to filter the rows by, or you can enter a value to filter on. In some columns, a filter icon displays in the column heading. Select the filter icon within the column heading to choose a filter. Select the filter icon at the top of the grid to hide the filter field altogether. |
Share | Select this button to copy the link to this gridform. Then, choose if you want to include Navigation, Header, and/or Client, and if you want URL or a link to embed the gridform. |
Grid Mode | Changes grid mode between paging and scrolling. By default, the grid mode is set to Paging. |
Select the Selection Pane ID to open an existing selection pane.
You can also view which templates are linked to the Selection Pane by selecting the arrow next to the Selection Pane ID, as demonstrated below:
To create a new Selection Pane, click the Add button the ribbon. A Create New Selection Pane dialog displays, as shown below:
Complete the required fields and select Create. An empty Selection Pane displays and you are free to start designing:
