SPGROUP

Mandatory in combination with another keyword/parameter

N/A

1

Defines which CVAL columns belongs to which SPVAL/SPKEY/SPLIM columns in the template.

Important: In v1 templates, SPKEY has been replaced by spreadkey_id and SPVAL has been replaced by spreadvalue from the Data View selected in the template.

SPGROUP is a parameter that must be defined in column A. When the parameters SPVAL and SPKEY are used in a row, SPGROUP states which of the CVAL columns belongs to which SPVAL/SPKEY/SPLIM columns. Since the template can contain several spread value (SPVAL) and spreadkey (SPKEY) columns, SPGROUP needs to be stated to group CVAL columns together. The parameter should be defined as a unique number that connects all columns belonging to the same spread group (allocation).

A SPGROUP value should be defined for the following columns (if defined in row 1):

  • SPVAL
  • SPKEY
  • SPLIM
  • CVAL

A SPGROUP value is defined for the SPVAL/SPKEY and CVAL columns in the template. The v0 template below contains two spread groups (1 and 2). When the end-user enters a value in column R (a total for week 201101) and then selects a spreadkey in column S, the program will allocate the total value to CVAL columns T-X, since these columns belong to SPGROUP 1.

The SPGROUP row should be defined with ROWTYPE = DESIGN (the row will be hidden when the document is generated).

When the end-user enters a value in column R (a total for week 201101) and then selects a spreadkey in column S, the program will allocate the total value to CVAL columns R-AA, since these columns belong to SPGROUP 1.

You can also configure spreadgroups in the right panel of Template Design. For more information, see Data Bindings (New Design).
