Homepage Dashboard

You now have the ability to design a Homepage Dashboard that displays upon login, or when navigating to the Home button. A homepage can be set on an application, client, and/or user level.

When installing or upgrading and NO value exists in Setting ID 149 (Value 1), then a default Homepage Dashboard will be configured and visible in the Home tab. This dashboard can then be modified (by a user in the BV30 role) or exchanged with any other dashboard as homepage. If upgrading and a Homepage Dashboard is already configured in Setting ID 149 (Value 1), then the installation package will not exchange the existing one.

Below is an example of the default homepage:

The dashboard that is published as "homepage" displays for all users that log into Bizview. No other authorization check is added when showing the Homepage Dashboard. This means, when designing a Homepage Dashboard and adding it to Setting ID 149, the designer does not have to add access rights to the dashboard, Bizview does this automatically.

In Value 1, either on application-, client-, or user-level, define the dashboard ID that should be shown as homepage. The dashboard that is set as homepage will not be visible in the Dashboard module, only in the Home tab. To access these settings, follow the demonstration below:

Once you've defined this value, you can set the update your Dashboard Homepage at any time by completing the following steps:

  1. Access Homepage settings by selecting the Settings icon.

  1. In the Appearance section, select the Homepage subsection.

  2. The subsection expands to expose the level of settings. Choose User, Client, or Application:

  1. To edit the Dashboard Homepage, select the drop-down:

  1. Choose a new homepage from the list.

  2. Don't forget to select Save!

Three new dasharea types were added to Dashboard Designer to create a powerful homepage. For more information, see:
