Data Bindings - Settings
The Settings flyout offers the ability to add a property when configuring the report data. To utilize this feature, navigate to the Data tab on the right panel in Template Design and select the Settings tab.
This topic contains the following sections:
Important: This topic applies to reports that have the parameter NEW_DATA_BIND set to 'ENABLED'. For more information, see NEW_DATA_BINDING.
Adding Subtotals
To add a subtotal to your worksheet:

Navigate to the Data Binding Settings tab >> select the Add property drop-down and choose Subtotal.
You can access all the required details for a subtotal function, as shown in the following video:
Select the Group by drop-down and choose from the available options.

Select the Function drop-down and choose one of the following functions:
- SUM
- AVG
- MAX
- MIN
- COUNT
- BLANK (set empty value)
Once the Function is selected you can edit this function for the measure columns that are part of the subtotal using the Show Columns table.

Select Show Columns to access the columns in the table that are part of the subtotal row as shown in the following video:
Once the table is exposed, expand the right panel to read the table, or hover over an item in the Details column to display the full data view name.
Select the Function drop-down in the table and choose the desired function in the specific column.
Select Hide Columns to collapse the table.
Enter a desired name in the Viewtag field. This field must contain uppercase alphanumeric and underscore characters only.

Select the Formatting drop-down to choose one of the following presets:
- Bluescale
- Greenscale
- Greyscale
You can also define a custom format that matches your branding theme.

Select +Custom from the Formatting drop-down to define a custom formatting.
A Custom Subtotal Formatting dialog displays, as shown in the following figure:
Select the text and cell formatting options as required. The sample text reflects your changes in the Preview area.
Click Save.
Alternatively, you can edit any custom formats by selecting the pencil icon as shown in the following figure:
Enter a desired name in the Subtitle field to describe the Subtotal rows. This field must contain alphanumeric and underscore characters only.
Enter a desired name in the Subtitle Viewtag field to show/hide the subtitle row in the generated templates. This field must contain alphanumeric and underscore characters only.

Select Apply to view your changes in the worksheet as shown in the following video:
The selected formatting will be applied in the worksheet on the respective SUBTOTAL_GROUPn row in the design area from the first available non-design Coltype column until the #END tag or used range.
The SUBTOTAL and SUBTOTAL_GROUPn tags are added to Column A and the GROUPn tag is added to the dimension column in the SUBTOTAL row in the worksheet.

A new row will be inserted after the SUBTOTAL_GROUPn rows with SUBTITLE_GROUPn tag in Column A, as shown in the following figure:
The value for the SUBTITLE_GROUPn tag will be added to the first dimension column in the same row.
The value for the SUBTITLE_VIEWTAG will be added to the ROWTYPE column i.e. Column B in the SUBTITLE_GROUPn row.
Note: The Data Binding Settings tab displays any updates you make to the Subtotal and Subtitle information in the worksheet.
Important: Selecting Apply does not save the template itself, it only applies the subtotal to the worksheet. You still need to select Save for the changes to persist or preview the generated report.

Click Save and preview the generated report as shown in the following figure:

To add another subtotal group, select Add Another Level and repeat the preceding steps.
Note: You can add up to seven subtotal groups.
Removing a Subtotal Group
To remove a subtotal group:

Select the X next to the corresponding level as shown in the following figure:
A Remove Subtotal_Group dialog displays, as shown in the following figure:

Click Yes.
The Subtotal_Group and Subtitle_Group rows and the respective GROUPn tags are removed from the worksheet and will no longer be displayed in the Active Properties section in the Settings tab.
