A selection pane can be connected to a dashboard in two different ways (preferably only one alternative is used for each dashboard):

Financial reporting and PL01 selection pane

  1. Connect a left selection pane (and/or right selection pane) to the whole Dashboard. This is done in the Dashboard Editor. These type of Selection panes are created in Pane Designer using pane type - Dashboard. Selection panes connected to the whole dashboard have a fixed height and a max width, shown as below in the Dashboard:

    PaneDash

Connect a specific dasharea to a Selection Pane, by selecting Area Type - Pane.

  2. >Area Settings.
  3. >Content Settings.

Note: The Data Params and Custom Data Tabs (beside the Design Tab) have no function for this particular area type.

If other dashareas are dependent on selections made in this Pane dasharea, see Selection criteria $ variables to read about how the selection criteria in these dashareas should be defined in order to receive the selections made in this pane.
