Pane

A selection pane can be connected to a dashboard in two different ways (preferably only one alternative is used for each dashboard):

1. Connect a left selection pane (and/or right selection pane) to the whole Dashboard. This is done in the Dashboard Editor. These type of Selection panes are created in Pane Designer using pane type - Dashboard. Selection panes connected to the whole dashboard have a fixed height and a max width, shown as below in the Dashboard:



2. Connect a specific dasharea to a Selection Pane, by selecting Area Type - Pane.
3. Area Settings.
4. Content Settings.

Note: The Data Params and Custom Data Tabs (beside the Design Tab) have no function for this particular area type.

By using a dasharea for the selection pane, more space can be used for the selection controls. However, the pane dasharea takes up space that could be used to show charts, etc.
