Random Data

This section can be used if a prototype of a dasharea should be created and the designer wants to be able to set some rules for the random data that is created. For example, how many columns should be shown in a column chart.

As long as nothing is stated in the Data Param tab for the dasharea, then Random data will be shown (even in the Dashboard panel towards the end-user). However, as soon as something is stated in the Data Param section, then random data will only be shown in the Design tab and NOT in a finished dashboard or when testing the dasharea.

The following parameters can be set in order to control the random data returned in the dasharea:

Note: The changes added in this section will not instantly be shown in the Design area. In order for the changes to be viewed in the dasharea, click the Random Data button in the ribbon.
