DESIGN or

<VIEWTAG>

Tag each column with different COLTYPEs so that the program knows how to handle the columns when generating the document. The value 'DESIGN' is mandatory; however, the VIEWTAGs are optional.

COLTYPE is a mandatory parameter in column A that is used to tag columns in the template so that the program knows how to handle them.

Important: Invisible: New for v23.4 There are new validation rules that apply when designing a template in template version one. With this new validation process, you are unable to save templates when the value for COLTYPE is empty, duplicated, or defined for a * column.

The corresponding keyword to tag rows in row 1 is ROWTYPE. The template columns and rows can be tagged so that they are always hidden from the end-user. Additionally, other columns and rows can be tagged so they are automatically hidden, or visible, when the end-user generates the document and thereafter, the end-user can view/hide these by using the ribbon.

Possibility to add columns in the template that the designer can evaluate other cells and stop the update of values to the database if any value exists in this column. The error messages are shown for the end-user in a separate error sheet.

No

In the template worksheet, the COLTYPE row should be defined with ROWTYPE = DESIGN (the row will be hidden when document is generated).

COLTYPE

The columns defined with COLTYPE = DESIGN will be hidden when end-users generate the document.

The columns specified as ACTUALS (ACTUALS is specified as a tag ID in the VIEWTAG parameter in the PARAM sheet) will be hidden/shown when the end-user marks the check box in the ribbon:
