Chart Types
The chart type can either be defined for the whole chart in Content Settings - PlotArea, or for each series in the Series tab.
Below is a list of the chart types available in Bizview:
Area
These charts are used to illustrate accumulated totals using data over time.
Note: This chart is in 3D, which is a selectable function under PlotArea.
Bar
Bar charts are used to illustrate frequencies or comparing values of different categories. Also useful when axis labels are longer. (Select among StackedBar and StackedBar100).
Bubble
A Bubble chart is a useful to represent three dimensions of data. Each bubble requires three kinds of values; XValue, YValue, and ZValue. The last value determines the size of the bubble.
Column
Column chart is the most common chart type and therefore set as default. These charts are used to illustrate frequencies and comparisons between different categories.
Also useful in combination with other chart types i.e line charts.
Doughnut
These charts are useful when wanting to compare one category with respect to an entire set of values.
Note: A single series chart and cannot be combined with other chart types.
Line
These chart is useful when wanting to observe the relation between a set of values by connecting them with lines. Works well in combination with column charts.
Pie
Pie charts are useful when wanting to compare one value and its relation to an entire set of values.
Note: A single series chart and cannot be combined with other chart types.
Point
These charts are useful when wanting to show the relation between two or more quantitative variables.
Note: For more information, see Series - Marker Types.
Pyramid
These charts are used when values, quantities, or other type of values need to be arranged in a hierarchical way.
Radar
Radar charts shows multivariate values in the form of a two-dimensional chart of three or more quantitative items represented on axes starting from the same point.
SectionFunnel
A single series chart that shows data that sums to 100% when summed.
StreamLineFunnel
The data is stream-lined meaning that each funnel slice in the funnel represents a process flow that has filtered out data. DataPoints are automatically sorted out in descending order based on their YValue.
Note: StreamLineFunnel is a single series chart.
StackedArea
Stacked Area charts show proportional relationships (a cumulative chart type).
StackedBar & StackedColumn
These charts are very useful when wanting to display proportional relationships over time. The emphasis is be more on values than time.
Note: For more information about inserting label values, see Series and Labels.
StackedBar100 & StackedColumn100
These charts are similar to StackedBar charts. The difference is that these charts have a fixed scale and data is represented in percentage.
StepLine
A step line chart is similar to a line chart. StepLine does not use the shortest distance to connect two data points. Instead, the step line chart uses vertical and horizontal lines to connect the data points in a series forming a step-like structure and clearly showing rise and falls.
SpLine
These are line charts that plots a fitted curve through each data point in a series.
Note: SeriesDefined is a default setting that allows you to define chart types per series. This is done under Series - Render As.
