Object Tree Mappings
- [Object Structures] Grouping and structuring object values in hierarchies
- [Object Pairs] Defining relationships between objects
- [SQL Smart Syntax] Syntax for SQL Smart
Normally, object trees are maintained using the [object structure] maintenance grid and tree view. Or, they are automatically updated from some other data source, such as an ERP system or a data warehouse. It's also possible to create rules that automatically map child object values to parent object values in an object pair. The object tree mapping configuration creates these rules that are then applied to any new object value added to the database.
Access Object Tree Mapping by selecting Client administration > Object Structures > Object trees setup > Object Tree Mappings.
To create a new rule, first select the hierarchy (what object pair the rule should apply to) by selecting the object pair in the top right drop-down.
Then, select the New button.
Select the parent object value for which the rule should be applied.
In the child object value text box, enter the rule using Bizview Smart SQL syntax.
You also have the option to define from and to what date the rule should apply.
In the below example, the object pair ACCOUNTGRP and ACCOUNT is configured with a mapping rule where all accounts between 1000 and 1099 should be mapped to account group 10:
To immediately apply the rule to already existing object values, select the Trig mappings button in the grid toolbar.
