A link creates a hyperlink to another template or web page in the Links right panel when user opens the report/form.

From Bizview 5.0, there is the possibility to link one template to another or connect a template to a web page. For example, you can connect a QlikView report within a form in Bizview so that when the user clicks the hyperlink in the right panel, they are redirected to a QlikView report. It is also possible to link a form to an ordinary Bizview report template so that the user can quickly navigate from a form to a report to access related information.

Note: To set up a connection to a QlikView report, you must create a WEBLINK template. Then, connect this LINK parameter to that WEBLINK template.

The LINK parameter creates a hyperlink in the Links right panel when the document is generated. When the user clicks the hyperlink, then Bizview will navigate to another template or web page, depending on the parameter setup.

Note: Any selection criteria that is selected when generating the "parent" document will then be sent into the linked template. It is up to the template designer to ensure that the control tags from the Selection Pane are used in the linked template.

In the design of the template, go the Links tab in the Property panel to the right. You can add an unlimited number of links to a template.

LinksRightPanel

The following properties need to be defined for each added LINK:

LINKdialog

  • Template ID or Webpage URL: A link to a web address does not support dependent input parameters. If a hyperlink with dynamic input parameters needs to be stated, then we recommend the creation of a WEBLINK template. After the WEBLINK template is created, you can link to that template ID.
  • Caption: A short descriptive text that displays as hyperlink text in the Links right panel.
  • Tooltip: A descriptive text that displays in the hyperlink tooltip when hovering over the hyperlink.
  • Open in new window: Determines whether the linked template or web page opens in a new browser or is integrated in Bizview. By default, the link will open in same browser window as Bizview.

When the document is generated, the links created in the template display in the Links right panel. Selecting the hyperlink redirects the user to that template or web page.

The selection criteria defined when opening the report/form containing the LINK parameter will be sent into the linked template (into that template's PANE sheet):
