DESIGN or

<VIEWTAG>

Mandatory in column B. Tag each row with different ROWTYPE, so that the program knows how to handle the rows when generating the document. The value "DESIGN" is mandatory, however, the VIEWTAGs are optional.

ROWTYPE is a mandatory parameter in row 1, which is used to tag columns in the template so that the program knows how to handle them. The corresponding keyword in column A to tag rows is COLTYPE. The template columns and rows can be tagged so that they will be hidden at all times for the end-user. In addition, other columns and rows can be tagged so they automatically are hidden or visible when the end-user generates the document and thereafter the end-user can view/hide these by using the ribbon.

Important: Invisible: New for v23.4 There are new validation rules that apply when designing a template in template version one. With this new validation process, you are unable to save templates when the value for ROWTYPE is empty or duplicated.

Caution: ROWTYPE must be defined in column B in row 1.

Below is a list of ROWTYPEs:

DESIGN

All rows that belong to the design template area. When the end-user generates the document all columns with DESIGN as ROWTYPE will be hidden.

Yes

<VIEWTAG>

All other rows (except the DESIGN rows) can be tagged with VIEWTAGS to automatically hide/show rows and columns in the document. A default state can be set and thereafter the end-user can hide/show tagged rows and columns by using check boxes in the ribbon. The tag ID specified in the VIEWTAG parameter should be entered in the ROWTYPE column.

No

ENTRY*

Possibility to use ENTRY in a whole row or column by defining it on the COLTYPE row or ROWTYPE column (Previously only NOENTRY worked in COLTYPE/ROWTYPE).

Note: If this feature is used then the complete row or column will be open for entry including headings, etc.

No

NOENTRY*

Possibility to define NOENTRY in COLTYPE row and ROWTYPE column to lock a complete row or column in a generated document. Can only be set during generation of document. After the document is generated and presented to the user, NOENTRY cannot lock cells. For example, if the user enters a particular value, then a column/row or cell should be locked.

No

Note: * These tags are only listed as ENTRY or NOENTRY in these cells. They do not include a # before.

In the template worksheet:

  • The rows defined with ROWTYPE = DESIGN, will be hidden when end-user generates the document.
  • The rows specified as ALL, DETAIL, and/or SUM (these are specified as a tag ID in the VIEWTAG parameter in the PARAM sheet) will be hidden/shown when the end-user mark the check boxes in the ribbon.

ROWTYPE

In this example, only rows with ROWTYPE = DETAIL are shown:

ROWTYPE2

In this example, only rows with ROWTYPE = SUM are shown:
