Parameter is used for hiding/showing columns and rows in the generated template. |
VIEWTAG is a common parameter which can be used both for FORMS and REPORTS. This parameter is used to tag rows and columns and thereby be able to automatically hide/show rows and columns in the document. A default state can be set and thereafter the end-user can hide/show tagged rows and columns by using checkboxes in the ribbon.
This parameter can be stated several times in the PARAM sheet.
Note: The tag ID:s defined in PARAM, also need to be defined in the template for applicable rows/columns. The tags should be entered in ROWTYPE column and/or COLTYPE row. By tagging the rows/columns you can decide which rows that should be visible or hidden by default. Thereafter the end-user can click in checkboxes in the ribbon to view/hide rows and columns. Go to ROWTYPE and COLTYPE to read more about tagging rows and columns.
To access viewtags from the right panel in Template Design, select Parameters > Rows/Columns > Viewtags:
You can also apply viewtags to the columns and rows you want to show/hide when the template is run in the Data Bindings section of the right panel. For more information, see Data Bindings (New Design).
Viewtags can be stated several times as long as Tag IDs are unique.
For each viewtag you add, you need to define:
- A tag ID, which should correspond to a tag used in the ROWTYPE/COLTYPE in the template to tag row and columns
- A descriptive text of the tag ID. This text is the one that will be visible for the user in the Show/Hide right panel
- Default Visible: TRUE or FALSE, if the tag should be visible or hidden as default when opening the report/form
In the Viewtags section you can:
- Add new viewtag: Select the plus icon above the grid.
- Edit an existing viewtag: Select the pencil icon.
- Delete a viewtag: Select the trash can icon.
- Reorder the viewtags: Drag-and-drop in the first column.
When the document is generated, the user can expand the Show/Hide menu in right panel and view the different viewtags (the end-user can check the different check boxes to view tagged rows and columns). The check box for "View detail rows" is selected by default when opening the document, since that particular VIEWTAG was defined as TRUE in the PARAM sheet:
